Cherished Memories welcomes you to Timber Creek. All of the leaves are gone, and the creek has its way of telling us winter is here. The bald eagle has made his way from the north for all of us in the Midwest to enjoy. The following poem was published in Arcadia Poetry Anthology Winter 1992. Hope you enjoy. THE EAGLE The eagle a strong and mighty bird. He flies through the air like a banner of proud colors. He cries over the countryside and is heard. He flies like the wind and hunts like a warrior. Yes! the eagle has the power of a knight and wisdom of a king. The wonder of all men and wiser of all birds. He should be given a medal of merit or a ring of honor. But most of all the eagle has a heart of gold that opens to you and me. If people could see life through the eagle's eye there would be no war. From a distance the eagle thinks you are his friend. He welcomes you to his great blue lore.
